Celebrating the outdoors, fishing, and women in the sport, the Orvis 50/50 On the Water Film Tour will debut on Friday, Oct. 4 in Evans Auditorium. An opening reception will be held at 6:30 p.m. with the film starting at 7 p.m.
The film festival is hosted by the Lees-McRae College Outdoor Recreation Management program and in partnership with High Country business Foscoe Fishing Company & Outfitters and non-profit organization OASIS.
“From women-specific gear development, to education and adventure experiences, to nonprofit partnerships and women-centric storytelling, 50/50 On the Water is here to inspire and celebrate women in the sport we all love,” according to the Orvis website.
Tickets can be purchased both online in advance for $10 or at the door for $15. Tickets are $5 for Lees-McRae students, faculty, and staff.
Prior to the film, drinks and snacks will be available for purchase. Proceeds from ticket sales and raffles during the event will benefit OASIS.
